ESV Bible Atlas

This book has a wealth of information and it is beautifully done! It is super helpful to have a good atlas handy when studying and reading the Bible. There are so many times when I need to pause my Bible reading to look up a map. This atlas has quickly become my favorite resource to look up a place or event in Scripture.

This book also comes with access to a bunch of online maps you can download. I will be consulting these maps and using them in my teaching for many years to come. This book not only contains hundreds of helpful maps of places and events in Scripture, but it also has many pictures and illustrations. The pictures are beautiful and help me visualize the geography of the area. And my favorite part of the book is the illustrations.

The artists for this book did an excellent job drawing the places and structures contained in the story of Scripture. I especially like the illustrations of the temple and the city of Jerusalem. These illustrations are worth the price of the book! Here is an example of one. This is a drawing of Jerusalem in the time of Nehemiah.

I was also pleasantly surprised about how much historical information is in this book. This book has a lot of text for an altas, more text than I expected. But it is all very helpful and fills in many historical details of the nations and leaders throughout biblical history. I highly recommend this book!

I received a copy of this book from Crossway in exchange for an honest review.
